Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before installing, accessing, or using the Loop mobile application ("Loop", "the Application", "we", "us", or "our") on Android or iOS.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Loop, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately uninstall and refrain from using the Application.

1. Description of the Application (Product Definition)

1.1. Core Functionality: Loop is strictly an offline-first personal cataloging, tracking, and progress management utility. It is designed solely to allow individual users to record, organize, and monitor their reading progress (such as chapter numbers, personal ratings, custom reading statuses, and personal notes) across literature, manga, manhwa, and comics.

1.2. No Content Hosting or Distribution: Loop is not a digital reader, digital bookstore, media streaming platform, scanlation distributor, or digital publisher. Loop does not host, store, index, reproduce, transmit, scrape, or distribute digital comic files, image chapters, scans, PDFs, or copyrighted literary works.

2. Intellectual Property Rights & Content Disclaimer

2.1. Third-Party Trademarks and Copyrights: All titles, publication names, author/artist names, series descriptions, cover illustrations, character likenesses, and associated intellectual property referenced within or discovered via the Application belong exclusively to their respective copyright holders, authors, illustrators, publishers, and licensors.

2.2. Fair Use & Informational Display: Any cover artwork, title metadata, or genre tags retrieved via the remote catalog search or inputted by the user are utilized strictly under the doctrines of fair use and nominative fair use for identification, cataloging, and informational indexing purposes only. Loop claims no ownership, affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or licensing rights regarding any referenced publication or intellectual property.

2.3. Anti-Piracy Commitment: Loop strictly condemns copyright infringement and digital media piracy. The Application contains no functionality designed to bypass digital rights management (DRM), access paywalled literature, or download unauthorized digital scans.

3. User-Generated Content & Imported Data

3.1. User Responsibility: You maintain sole legal custody and responsibility for all information, text, notes, ratings, custom image URLs, CSV files, and backup archives that you manually input, import, or store within the Application.

3.2. Acceptable Use: You agree not to use the Application for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to:

• Importing or storing content that violates any local, national, or international laws;
• Circumventing or attempting to compromise the security, integrity, or availability of the Application's underlying databases or remote search endpoints;
• Automated scraping, crawling, or flooding of the search catalog infrastructure.

3.3. Local Storage Custody: Because Loop does not maintain cloud backups of your library, you are solely responsible for creating regular backups using the built-in ZIP/CSV export features to prevent loss of your personal cataloging records.

4. Disclaimers & "As Is" Warranty

4.1. "As Is" and "As Available": The Application is provided to you on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, with all faults and defects, without warranty of any kind.

4.2. Disclaimer of Warranties: To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the developer expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.

4.3. Service Continuity: We do not warrant that:

• The Application will meet your specific personal requirements;
• The Application or remote search catalog will operate uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
• Metadata or chapter numbers retrieved from remote search endpoints are completely accurate, exhaustive, or current;
• Any defects in the software will be corrected immediately.

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1. Exclusion of Consequential Damages: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer, contributors, or distributors of Loop be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages whatsoever, including without limitation:

• Loss of data, corrupted databases, or failed backup restorations;
• Device damage, hardware failure, or system crashes;
• Interruption of business or loss of goodwill;
• Any damages arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the Application.

5.2. Aggregate Cap: In jurisdictions that do not permit the complete exclusion or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Application shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you (if any) to purchase the Application.

6. Third-Party Platform Terms (Apple & Google)

6.1. Apple App Store Requirements: If you obtained Loop from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

• These Terms are concluded between you and the developer of Loop only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple");
• Apple is not responsible for the Application and has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Loop;
• In the event of any failure of the Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever;
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

6.2. Google Play Store Requirements: If you obtained Loop from the Google Play Store, your usage must comply with Google Play Terms of Service and applicable policies.

7. Modifications to the Application and Terms

7.1. Updates: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature, functionality, or the entire Application at any time without prior notice.

7.2. Terms Revision: We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be maintained on this website. Continued access to or use of the Application after revisions become effective constitutes your binding acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Governing Law & Severability

8.1. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

8.2. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the use of the Application.
